Chapter 86

Judgments On Our Nation’s Security And Economy

In the light of the attack on the Twin Towers in new york we Americans now know that our land is vulnerable to foreign invasion. This breach covered multiple locations, and there appeared to be a tremendous break down in national security. Many claim it was even a ‘black ops’ (government sponsored) intrusion designed to bring us into war in Afghanistan and Iraq. What the truth is today is irrelevant, but the light it sheds on America is frightening. If impositions come from within or without, we Americans may be left to defend our homeland and ourselves, and our greatest defense is our ability to pray and trust god at the leading of his Holy spirit.

Another consideration is that in the case of a nuclear attack or a biological attack on our country all of the rules will change. The ability to rebuild will not exist in different areas and communities. Families will be forced to uproot and seek a new area of the country to live and find employment. Infrastructures in parts of America will change in a moment. Major losses will mount up that insurance companies will not be able to cover. Medical and financial needs will abound; uncertainty and fears will run rampant. Large numbers of major banks would fail, and families could see their financial cushions turning into boulders of debt.

Just recently I heard a horrible story following the collapse of Iceland’s economy. Investors that had money in overseas banks, as a safe haven in case of such a collapse, were refused their withdrawals from the overseas banks! The world system is turning against the people, and people must prepare for rough times ahead. Shortly after this, switzerland agreed to turn over documents to the IRs to help to examine American holdings overseas. Since when does our government have the right to peer into the privacy of oversees accounts, regardless of the reason? I am illustrating that all the rules are changing, and the rules are changing to benefit the money and power brokers!

I am not attempting to be a doomsday prophet in sharing these observations, but these are legitimate issues that should be considered. We know that our country is in serious financial debt, but somehow we do not believe that it will affect us personally. We should not be so naive! When America’s financial empire collapses, we should have already considered the multiple problems that will exist. Simply drive down the street and look at all of the small businesses, grocery stores, shoe stores, clothing, automobile parts, and hundreds of other businesses just like them; most will tell you that they are less than 60 days out of bankruptcy if the financial empire of our country fails. Initial signs are already evident. A failing economy will produce a domino effect that will grow worse as time progresses. Most economists agree that America is in recession, and some are concerned that things may get much worse. Governments from the county level all the way to the federal level are spending freely and uncontrollably, as if there is no end to the supply of money. But everything can literally change overnight. Many of the larger cities of America are already facing bankruptcy. Instead of increased spending local and state governments should be preparing now for drastic changes in the financial structures of “business as usual.”

America’s work force includes a great percentage of single-parent families. Consider what can happen when single parents are without employment and without the child support of an ex-spouse. A rude awakening will also rock families where both spouses find themselves without jobs, facing bankruptcy and homelessness. Considering the current financial climate of our nation, families should begin working to eliminate debt, scaling back on expenses, and making preparations through advanced planning.

In the foreseeable future a multiplicity of financial problems could easily lead to mass unemployment and unsolvable burdens on communities and its taxpayers. Our country witnessed this after the financial downturn in 2008 with the banking meltdown and government bailouts, which served the wealthy and penalized the citizens. In our future the ripple effect of increased unemployment will affect many unsuspecting families, and these will be the new homeless.
