Choices In BTE Hearing Aids

When it comes to the excellent choice in hearing aids today they can worn in different styles like BTE (Behind The Ear), ITE (In The Ear), MC (Mini Canal) and CIC (Completely In The Canal). The most commonly used is the BTE Hearing Aids so some manufacturers design special models for those people in mind.

The Sumo DM model is offered by Oticon which is powerful enough for those who have greater hearing loss so that sound is amplified. This increased ability of being able to amplify sound means that voices no longer sound distorted or weak even. Battery life is also conserved in the design, and once the batteries begin to wear down, the performance of the Sumo DM is not compromised. This makes it very practical for the wearer of a BTE hearing aid who has significant hearing loss.

The Widex Senso BTE hearing aid is a high-tech model which comes with lots of fancy features. It if fully digital and processes sound at an exceptional rate, faster than many digital models which cannot. It uses three bands to process sound. The signal is analyzed, regulated for each frequency, then processed before being sent back through the speakers.

BTE Hearing aids can separate speech from noise so that speech sounds on emphasized. The system is also sophisticated enough to eliminate recruitment. Many people that have a hearing loss love this great feature because they usually can't hear a person speak at first, and when they do repeat it in a louder voice, it's like they are being shouted out.

These hearing aids can also deal with feedback as they have directional microphones on each hearing aid. Noises that are constant in the background are reduced, like the sound you get from a refrigerator. There are also special models available for those people that have a more profound hearing loss.

Several manufacturers make the open ear BTE aid, which are comfortable to wear and very lightweight which is very practical. You can even get the ear mould in a variety of designer colors. The ear hooks that an aid is equipped with is made of extremely thin tubing which is quite a bonus. Some of the aid compartments which is the part that sits behind the ear are very small and so light that they are barely noticeable. There is the Siemens Prisma BTE hearing aids which only weighs two grams, although it has two microphones with a couple of memories with a button so you can switch between the two. There is also the Starkey Aries BTE hearing aids which are very small.

The added bonus that you get with open ear hearing aids is that they do not block your ears. A lot of people find that the usual hearing aids shut off their ears which they find very uncomfortable, also you get the extra build up of ear wax. The open air hearing aid does not have this problem as the ear is allowed to breathe, as we say. Many of them also have a special nanocoating which is a substance that covers the aid and repels foreign matter like dirt, sweat and water which can stop the aid working for a while.

Each type of hearing aid offers advantages for one user or another. When you look at BTE hearing aids, you should examine the options that are on offer carefully before you decide on the best solution for you. For each category you will find many choices.
