Drowning

I am drowning in a sea

sea of pain and misery

Misery from physical pain

pain  which can make insane

Insane how it saps energy

energy depleted—synergy

Synergy causes pain that’s there

there are times almost can’t bear

Bear I must for I am drowning in a sea

sea of pain and misery

Faces

I have many faces

Excited and can't wait to explore

Content to just sit and be

Fearful the darkness will return

Depressed, the darkness transcends

Numb, unable to feel anything.

That is the worst

Unable to feel joy, pain

Darkness, light

Contentment

Nothing matters

Especially me.

Lost in the darkness

Wandering, wondering

Hoping, wishing

Waiting for the sun to

Break through

The clouds.

A crack,

A small sliver of light

Breaks through the darkness

Offering hope

Warmth, strength

A chance to matter again.
