Appendix A: Various Search Engine Statistics
On Friday March 6th ExopaTerra looked at the type of sites that occupied the top 50 slots in each of the major search engines being tracked. News sites occupy a large portion of the first 50 sites in both Infoseek and Excite while sex related sites are popular in HotBot, Lycos, and Alta Vista.
As a result of these statistics ExopaTerra did a search of each search engine on March 7th looking at the number of sites that had both Monica and sex in the description or keywords and determined what portion of the total Monica sites they occupied in the search engine:
