Horror House
It was winter in 1985 when the Potter family moved into their house. They bought it was an old Georgian style house and was built in the late 1800s. They bought the house due to a relocation and was unaware of the house’s long haunted history. Back after the house was built there was a massacre of people. There a man known as the richest man in Georgia by the name of Thomas Ghent and he owned over one hundred slaves, Thomas Ghent went stark raving mad and murdered all his slaves, he chained them up, tortured them, then stabbing them and then cutting out their body parts. The claimed to a cannibal and took the body parts he cut of the slaves and ate them and convinced that it made him immortal. For years Thomas was plagued by the hauntings of the slaves he tortured and killed. Every night the slaves would come up from the basement dragging their chains and moaning, they went to Thomas’s room where he slept and wrapped their chains around his neck and choked him to death. The next morning the maid had been doing her morning chores when she found Thomas in his bed dead, she screamed and went running out the of the room. According to local legend Thomas and his slaves haunt his house, people who have bought their house have only lived there for a few nights and were murdered and mysteriously found in the back yard stabbed and their body parts cut out. The police were called about by a neighbor and the police were baffled by this their mysterious death and ruled a homicide. But it really the ghost of Thomas Ghent, the locals of Augusta, Georgia didn’t believe in ghost stories but the God’s honest truth. After the murder, the house remained empty until the Potter family bought it. It was winter in 1985 and Potter family was packing up the last of their belongings and placed into the moving truck. The family four got into their car looked at their old house one last time and drove off into the night. Mr. Potter was being relocated due to his job and they were relocating to Augusta, Georgia the family spent months looking for houses and when they found the Ghent House, they fell in love with it when they saw it online and had to have it. It had everything they were looking for in a house, it big enough for the whole family it had a beautiful garden, a pool, and huge back that was fenced it plus the house sat on a lake. It was their dream house and Mrs. Potter had always wanted a Georgian style home they so exquisite and charming it reminded her something out “Gone With The Wind”. The drive to Augusta only took a couple hours they had lived in Atlanta all their lives. They moved to be closer to the city. When they pulled into the driveway of the house it was gated so they get out of the car and open the gate. There in the window was Thomas Ghent watching out of the window while the new family came to his house which mad him so mad. This was his house and he wasn’t going to let that happen and he was going to show it and he’d do whatever it took to make these people disappear even if it meant killing them. The Potter family began unpacking their suitcases and bringing them into the house, Mr. Potter unlocked the door and they walked in, their mouths dropped opened in amazement. The house was huge on the inside and all the rooms were furnished it looked the house had been untouched for months, the Potters didn’t seem to mind. The kids had gone upstairs to explore and to pick out their rooms, the kids loved the house it so big and it was like big maze for them to explore. By the time they finished unpacking it grown late and it was time for bed. After settling in for the night the Potter family began to experience strange happens, The kids would have strange nightmares, they would hear chains being dragged across the floor, they would hear screaming in the basement one of the kids witnessed some man being murdered in this house. The parents woke up to a ghostly man wearing an old top hat and suit standing over their bed watching them or they hear orders being told to someone. The worst of what they heard was loud screaming coming from the basement. Mr. Potter went downstairs to the basement and he opened the old basement door, it creaked when he opened it he switched on the light and screaming got louder, he went down the long staircase and he was appalled by what he saw; he saw the man in the top hat and suit standing over what looked like slaves that were chained up and he was torturing them then he watched the man take a long silver knife and plunge into the slave killing them and blood was dripping from the slave’s body and if that wasn’t worse enough he took the knife and dug out the slave’s heart and ate it. Mr. Potter turned to run up the long staircase, he shut the basement door and locked it and ran back upstairs. The ghost of Thomas Ghent was floating up the stairs and went straight through the basement door and went straight for the parent’s bedroom. He went into the bedroom. Mrs. Potter was sleeping Thomas took the knife and plunged into Mrs. Potter’s chest and stabbed her and began cutting out her body parts, he then drug her outside into the backyard. Mr. Potter was hiding in the closet watching terrified of what he just witnessed his wife was dead and he knew he was next. The ghost returned to the bedroom where he found Mr. Potter huddled in the fetal position in closet, the ghost drug him out by his feet, Mr. Potter fought as hard as he to get the ghost off but the ghost was too strong for the ghost had sitting on his body. The ghost raised the knife and stabbed Mr. Potter in chest hitting him directly in the heart. The ghost to the knife and cut out his liver and began eating it when he was finished, he drug Mr. Potter into the backyard and placed him next to his dead wife. The kids were already awake had heard all the noise coming from their parents’ bedroom and had become worried and began calling out for their parents not knowing they were dead. They were making their way to the bedroom when a slave came out of one of the bedrooms and said this “beware of Thomas Ghent, murder, killed, death.” The kids were terrified and ran and who did they run into? The ghost of Thomas Ghent himself, the slave who was still there was desperately trying to help the kids ended getting chased Thomas and it was too late anyway the kids’ fate was already sealed. The kids go to run but Thomas grabs one of the by their feet and pulls him back, the older sister tries grabbing on to her brother’s arms and pulls him away but the ghost is too strong and pulls him out of her grasp. The ghost raised his knife and goes to the stab the child but the sister jumps in between and takes the knife to the abdomen killing her instantly. The brother gets up and runs but trips on the carpet and runs into one of the bedrooms and watches in terror as the ghost cuts out her sister’s lungs and begins eating them one by one and he drags her outside. The slave who reappeared, appeared to the boy telling him to follow him he knew a way out and could help the boy escape, the boy follows the slave and they go into the slaves quarters there was a back door that he helped the boy get out of. It was too late Thomas was out there waiting for the boy, the boy goes to run but the ghost grabs him tripping the boy falls on a big rock and is knocked unconscious the ghost stabs him, the ghost flipped him over and cut his spleen and at it. He took the boy’s body and laid next to the others. The next day one of neighbors who had let his dog out saw the bodies in the backyard and it was the Potter family, they had all died mysteriously. About a week later a medium came through investigated the old house and she said that the house was old around the late 1800s and that there was a horrific murder here and that house and land was cursed. There not one murder but two, she continued to explain that there two families that were murdered here. Turns out that Thomas Ghent had been a devil worshipper and he believed that the devil made him immortal by eating the body parts of his victims and the land he bought belonged to Native Americans and was cursed. Some of the locals back then said Thomas Ghent was possessed others say he was just went mad, others say that one of the slaves had been a voodoo witch and cursed Thomas Ghent and the house. The house is now condemned and will tore down and the land will remain empty.
