-----Where Did You Get Those?-----
I have saved the last blissful moment of laughter in my real life as a joke from Reader's Digest which I enjoyed thoroughly. Reader's Digest was one of my favorite magazines once upon a time because they always inspired me and uplifted my spirits and helped me laugh when my hours were dark. Since they were costly, I bought the monthly magazines, once in a span of a few months and savored them deeply.
Well, the joke is like this. Again, I am going to paraphrase it but the theme behind it is going to be the same. Here goes: A man finds it hard to remember his wife's birthdays and each time, his wife minds a lot about it. So the man hits upon an idea and makes a deal with an online florist right at the start of the year to send his home address a bouquet of burgundy roses, addressed to his wife, being sent from him on her birthday. Finishing off the task, the man is satisfied and goes about doing his own stuff.
The wife's birthday turns up within a few months, and she gets the bouquet of roses accordingly and gets greatly elated at her husband's generous gift. She goes about decorating the house jubilantly and sets up for a candle lit dinner with the bouquet of roses standing tall and beautiful in a vase in the middle of the dining table. She just can't wait for her husband to return home.
At last he arrives. The woman goes very emotional but he hardly notices it because he is busy looking around the new set up of the house. And he says, "Ah!! So are we in for a romantic treat?" And the woman happily smiles, full of emotions running through her. Everything was just fine until now. And then the man asks suddenly, "Where did you manage to get those beautiful roses?" Ouch!! Everything for the day was ruined for both of them. And lol!
