Summerland watched with curiosity as Rikard walked towards his driver. Perhaps she wanted to consult someone who might have local knowledge of some matter.
She stopped beside the driver; they exchanged a few words.
As the driver turned away from Rikard, both were suddenly enveloped in a grey cloud.
Alarmed voices came from those sitting nearby – the people Arkangel had described as her bodyguards. They stood and ran towards the billowing cloud.
Summerland rose and rushed after them.
There was no wind across the site, but by the time they had all reached the place where Rikard and the driver had been standing, the cloud had largely dissipated.
Rikard and the driver had vanished.
