Chapter 84

2nd June

‘Why did you try to attack Gobekli Tepe?’ the president asked Colonel John Hawker.

‘I was following your orders,’ replied the confused commander.

‘I never authorised such orders,’ said the president.

‘I received encrypted orders from the White House that contained your security password,’ Hawker replied.

The president thought for some moments. ‘Those orders were fake. Could they have come from A51H?’

‘I’m a member of A51H,’ Hawker admitted, ‘but we’re not opposed to you, Mr. President. We just want to deflect that asteroid.

‘Frankly, it’s been impossible since the 1950s to involve any president in significant decisions; they’re all too easily subverted by those in power who have allegiance to one of the numerous secret organisations that control America.’

‘So who sent those orders?’ the president asked.

‘It must have been a WAR infiltrator at the White House,’ Hawker replied. ‘Who else would want to kill Arkangel and the team who were leading the plan for a clean, non-US missile launch base?’

‘A51H are supplying ARK with the information to launch the missiles, including my personal, secret password,’ said the President. ‘How do you get that information?’

‘I’m sorry, Mr. President, that’s classified,’ Hawker replied. ‘But rest assured that any decisions that we make on your behalf will be in the best interests of God and the US.’
