656.

“With fame, I become more and more stupid, which of course is a very common phenomenon.”

Never allow yourself to be lackadaisical in success but always and continuously seek to become a person of great value that you can always impact positively on the lives of others.

657.

“A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.”

A similar remark by Ralph Waldo Emerson goes thus, “All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better.” For the comfort of those it seems they have failed several times and are yet to achieve anything really worthwhile, perhaps it is worth mentioning that the Wright brothers, who invented the Airplane, failed several times. Thomas Alva Edison, as it was recorded failed over a thousand times. The result of these failure experiences by these great characters and many others like them: life-sustaining inventions. Stay focused and you will eventually win!

658.

“If people are good only because they fear punishment, and hope for reward, then we are a sorry lot indeed.”

A merry heart does good, like medicine. Doing good with the right intentions will give you a sense inner of fulfillment to have had the privilege to genuinely contribute in a meaningful way to others

659.

“Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.”

660.

“The value of a man resides in what he gives and not in what he is capable receiving.”

Truly, the lasting benefits of the sense of inner fulfillment that comes from anonymous giving or selfless contribution cannot be overemphasized. Ever considered the inner sense of joy that you feel each night before you close your eyes to sleep and you mentally reflect through your day and how you had successfully brought a moment of joy to someone else. This feeling is elating to say the least and almost indescribable. John Bunyan rightly observed, “You have not lived today until you’ve done something for someone who cannot repay you.”

661.

“Intellectual growth should commence at birth and cease only at death.”

Continuous and Never-ending Improvement (CANI) should be the philosophy of anyone who desires to become more daily. Think about the mustard seed, which is about the smallest of seeds, when planted in the soil, this small seed grows daily and in a few years becomes a giant tree. In the same vein, through a sincere dedication to Continuous and Never-ending Improvement, we too can grow and become a giant, in our chosen fields, in the near future. Never stop learning, since life never stops teaching!

662.

“The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don’t do anything about it.”

Most people never get to let themselves accept responsibility for the things happening around them. Possibly due to the following reasons:

  1. I was not involved.
  2. My family is not concerned.
  3. My business was not involved.
  4. I do not want to be punished for speaking up.
  5. I am too young or too old to challenge that.

However, the real truth that we tend to forget is that most of the evils that happen around us create ripple effects that will eventually directly or indirectly affect us, when we look the other way.

Martin Luther King Jnr. admonished, “Never, never be afraid to do what’s right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society’s punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way.

663.

“The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.”

664.

“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”

The rich get richer, the poor get poorer, is all about their mindset.

If you foster an image of defeat and failure then that will become your experience but if you develop an image of victory, success, good health, abundance, joy, peace and happiness, then nothing on earth will hold those things from you!

665.

“You want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or things.”

People change and things become obsolete. Tie happiness to goals and with each achievement set another goal. Whether it be a goal in repairing a broken relationship or building a company or in reading a book, the benefits of tying happiness to goals cannot be fathomed. It's fulfilling to say the least!

666.

A coward is incapable of exhibiting love; it is the prerogative of the brave.

667.

Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning.

668.

First they ignore you.

Then they laugh at you.

Then they fight you.

Then you win.

669.

The difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world's problems.

670.

If you don't find God in the next person you meet, it is a waste of time looking for him further.

671.

To believe in something, and not to live it, is dishonest.

672.

I will not let anyone walk through my mind with dirty feet.

673.

I don't have a message. My message is my life.

674.

When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants, and murderers, and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall. Think of it...always.

675.

I will give you a talisman…

Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen and ask yourself if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him.

676.

As human beings, our greatness lies not so much in being able to remake the world... as in being able to remake ourselves.

677.

"If we are to teach real peace in this world, and if we are to carry on a real war against war, we shall have to begin with the children."

678.

Whatever you do may seem insignificant to you, but it is most important that you do it.

679.

It's the action, not the fruit of the action, that's important. You have to do the right thing. It may not be in your power, may not be in your time, that there'll be any fruit. But that doesn't mean you stop doing the right thing. You may never know what results come from your action. But if you do nothing, there will be no result.

680.

You must be the change you wish to see in the world.

681.

Satisfaction lies in the effort, not in the attainment. Full effort is full victory.

682.

Consciously or unconsciously, every one of us does render some service or other. If we cultivate the habit of doing this service deliberately, our desire for service will steadily grow stronger, and will make, not only our own happiness, but that of the world at large.

683.

If you don't ask, you don't get.

684.

“PAIN IS TEMPORARY. IT MAY LAST A MINUTE OR AN HOUR OR A DAY OR A YEAR. BUT EVENTUALLY IT WILL SUBSIDE AND SOMETHING ELSE WILL TAKE ITS PLACE.

IF I QUIT, HOWEVER, IT LASTS FOREVER. THAT SURRENDER, EVEN THE SMALLEST ACT OF GIVING UP STAYS WITH ME. SO WHEN I FEEL LIKE QUITTING, I ASK MYSELF, WHICH WOULD I RATHER LIVE?” – LANCE ARMSTRONG

685.

“HELLO, I PROMISED TO TELL YOU ONE OF MY PERSONAL CREED…!

YOU MUST BE CAPABLE OF CHANGING AND REARRANGING YOUR PRIORITIES SO THAT YOUR FINAL GOAL CAN BE ACHIEVED. SOMETIMES FAMILIARITIES AND COMFORT NEED TO BE CHALLENGED. THERE ARE TIMES WHEN YOU MUST TAKE FEW EXTRA CHANCES AND CREATE YOUR

OWN REALITIES

BE STRONG ENOUGH TO AT LEAST TRY TO MAKE YOUR LIFE BETTER. BE CONFIDENT ENOUGH THAT YOU WONT SETTLE FOR A COMPROMISE JUST TO GET BY. APPRECIATE YOURSELF BY ALLOWING YOURSELF THE OPPORTNITIES TO GROW, DEVELOP AND FIND TOUR TURE SENSE OF PURPOSE IN THIS LIFE. DON’T STAND IN SOMEONE ELSE’S SHADOW WHEN IT’S YOUR SUNLIGHT THAT SHOULD LEAD THE WAY.”

“Never, never be afraid to do what’s right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society’s punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way.” – Martin Luther King Jnr.

Oftentimes we tend to turn a blind eye to the needs of the people around us, possibly with the reason that we are preoccupied with our own problems and challenges.

Perhaps one thing we need to bear in mind with regards to selfless giving and selfless contribution is that when we reach out to help and support other people, we are setting into motion by virtue of that selfless act, a processional effect that tends to make the person we had helped want to go ahead and help other people.

A famous Nigerian radio personality, the late Chaz B, at the start of his radio show admonishes thus: “If each one can reach one and if each one can teach one, what a much more beautiful world we would have. So show love just because.”

717.

“Holding onto anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die” – Buddha

The impact of staying hurt on our soul is so gruesome and devastating that if only we realized the extent of damage we do to ourselves, we will never think twice about freeing ourselves of the cumbersome hurtful pains of the disappointments, we experience from others.

This is often rooted in our rigid rules of what needs to happen before we can get ourselves to feel good.

When we let anger to fester, we are literally imprisoning ourselves from experiencing the abundance of freedom we would otherwise be enjoying while the other person we are angry about is busy enjoying life.

I encourage you to make a decision to forgive freely, because by forgiving freely, we setting ourselves free to enjoy life’s abundance!

718.

“Surround yourself with the dreamers and the doers, the believers and thinkers, but most of all, surround yourself with those who see greatness within you, even when you don’t see it yourself.”

As it is said, “Iron sharpens iron.” You need to be mindful of associating with the naysayers. Those whose sole purpose is corrode you of whatever morale you have left to achieve your goals.

Create and develop relationships with those who help nurture your can-do attitude levels.

These are the dreamers, the doers, the believers, the thinkers and the truly great.

We sometimes go through times when we say, “Things aren’t working out like we want.”

In such situations, you want to have the all-important relationships that will help you in those seemingly ‘dark times’, in order for you to rise again to new levels.

719.

“When you become fearless. Life becomes limitless.”

Nothing paralyzes more than fear! Fear of the unknown has resulted to too many unrealized dreams and dashed goals.

Tom Petty rightly observed, “Most of the things you fear will never happen” so why live your life many years ahead of you, while you sabotage your capacity to enjoy the miracles that presently abound.

720.

“If you can’t fly, then run, if you can’t run, then walk, if you can’t walk, then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward. – Martin Luther King Jnr.

Nothing great was ever achieved by folding the arms, sitting at a place and giving our limited time to worrying about how unfair events and circumstances have been to us.

Worry only keeps you busy doing nothing. So ditch worrying, use whatever that is available to you, where you are and start doing something. Keep moving forward, for it is only in moving forward that you can discover new lands of opportunities.

721.

“When someone tells me ‘No’, it doesn’t mean I can’t do it. It simply means I can’t do it with them. Albert Einstein made a similar remark when he said, “I’m thankful to all those who said no, for it is because of them that I am doing it myself.”

Perhaps it is time we start approaching every ‘No’ that we encounter through a vantage point. Instead of seeing ‘No’ as the end of the road, we can begin seeing it as an opportunity to expand ourselves, dig deeper to find the resources it is that you seek, be it human, financial, or any other kind of material resources it is that you seek. This is because in a literal sense, you have the capacity to do anything and this will only begin to happen once you come to a full understanding of this fact.

722.
