Backwards again, the rooster
has saluted the moon,
because there is no restive
intelligence in the call
of a flightless bird
and that moment of perception,
where it must determine
when we should be awake
is easily fooled by the awesome
vantage of a skyline
that is only skyline. One foot
off the ground, that feathering
is in awe almost all of the time.
He is like a child witnessing
the enormity of because it is.
