The Chinese 5 Elements are Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. These five elements are in dynamic balance with each other in every area of life. Wood, for example, is associated not only with the Liver and Gall Bladder, but also with movement, planning, strategy, hope and creativity. Fire is connected with the Heart and various other functions of the body, as well as the capacity to love, make connections with others, passion and good relationships. Earth is all about transformation and centredness as well as the Stomach and Spleen. Metal is related to making space, letting go, breathing and the Large Intestine. Water is, in addition to the Bladder and Kidneys, assocated with the void of creation, from where all creativity springs. Sounds intriguing, doesn’t it?
