A True Creative Win-Win

Have you ever seen an original piece of artwork and thought, “wow, I would love to have that in my home, if only it was a different size or color?” Or perhaps you have seen an artist’s work and really admired their style, but not found anything that was just right for your home. You may have left that experience being kind of bummed, as your quest to find the perfect piece of artwork for the space above your bed or in your hallway is forced to continue for yet another day. The truth is that you need not fret. In many cases, most any contemporary painter is more than willing to produce a custom painting in the colors and size that you request.

Commissioning a painting from an artist is a great way to get exactly what you were

looking for, without having to compromise. Often you can have the artist base your painting upon an existing work that really caught your eye. You can dictate what color theme, size and more you would like to be incorporated into the painting. The end result will be a piece that is exactly what you are picturing in your mind’s eye, and it will be a complete original. Most contemporary painters are happy to have someone think so much of their work as to want to have an original created for them too.

There are many benefits to ordering a custom painting for your home from an artist, not the least of which is the simple act of supporting the arts. While there are many very fine, mass produced paintings out there for purchase, you are typically only benefiting the retailer. Ordering a custom piece from a contemporary painter helps ensure that they continue creating new work, which may well one day be considered a masterpiece like the Mona Lisa. Add to that the fact that a custom created painting will be exactly the right size and color for whatever space you are commissioning it for and you have a true win-win situation.

So the next time that you are at an art gallery or even at a street fair, and see an artist whose work appeals to you, consider ordering a custom piece from them. By doing so, you will be guaranteeing that you have an original piece of work, that will fit in perfectly in your home. You will be patronizing a contemporary painter as well, who will appreciate the compliment that you are paying them by asking and helping them to continue creating art.
