3 Simple Tactics to Increase Sales

Sometimes when you start to market your business you start with the more complex forms of marketing and fail to see the simple ways to market. Most of us start with a big advertising campaign and spend a fair bit of money doing direct advertising with many publications. This can be quite costly and not leave much money for any other types of marketing. There are several simple and relatively cheap ways to advertise that can be very effective.

Here are some ways to advertise-your-business using simple but effective tactics:

• Signature file: Many people overlook this important free selling tool. This is a small piece of text at the bottom of each email you write. Do not make this an advertisement just 2-3 lines about you. For example mine would be Regards cathy Qazalbash, Freelance writer/copywriter, http://advertise-your-business.com

You can have several different ones, depending on whom you are communicating to. For instance when writing to my subscribers I would say: Best wishes Cathy Qazalbash, publisher of my ezine and website address. Whereas to a client or a prospective customer I might write Regards Cathy Qazalbash, Freelance writer/copywriter, my website address.

Sigs, as these small pieces of text are called, can be a very powerful tool, especially if you combine them with a PS. The PS will always be noticed by the reader, bringing your point across and the PS will draw attention to your to your signature file and tell people who you are and what you do.

• Article distribution: Write or have written some interesting articles about your business with your bio and permission for others to use. Either distribute them for free to all libraries and directories, or use a service for a nominal fee.

This is a very powerful advertising tool when done right especially if you have a service. Always be careful to copyright your work and make sure you add your bio box. Your permission for publication should be at the top and should read you have permission to publish this article as long as you publish it in its entirety and include the bio box.

• Ad swaps and article swaps: You can swap ads and articles with other publishers in related fields. This technique may not sell much but can gain targeted subscribers. An ad for your ezine is very effective as an ad swap. This will not cost you anything and will build your business list with valuable subscribers.

These 3 simple tactics are very effective tools to advertise your business. They will help you spread the word about your company and expand your business. As more people get to know about you your business will grow into a profitable enterprise.

Successful Advertising

Your advertising campaign is one of your key points in marketing. However to be really effective it is critical that your ad has the necessary ingredients for success. Many ad campaigns fail due to poor ad copy. If your ad is not pulling your campaign is wasted. Firstly you must ascertain what your ad is going to do. Is it going to create curiosity for your reader to click through to your Sales page, or is it designed to sell straight away?

Have you ever looked through some classified ads in your local newspaper or even your favorite ezine and suddenly found one that catches your eye? Why does this ad stand out from the rest? Let us look at a few points that will help to make your ad stand out and be seen.

Your headline:

Needs to be an attention grabber. We are all aware of the immense amount of advertising that daily bombards us. Your most important part of your ad is your headline. It is critical that it grabs your reader’s attention. For instance “How to Increase Your Website Profits With An Irresistible Sales Letter,” addresses what every webmaster in business wants to do, make profits, and shows them how you will help them do it, with a sales letter. In one headline you have done 2 things caught your readers attention by addressing his need and shown him how you can help him fulfill that need.

Note the wording of this particular headline that makes it more effective. It could have read, “Increase your profits with a sales letter,” but that would not have been as effective. Because this advertising is designed to sell a sales letter, for a website, I added Your Website adding “your” makes the advertising more personal and appealing. It is not just a sales letter but an irresistible sales letter, indicating that I will write a “kick the doors down” sales letter as opposed to just a common everyday sales letter. This immediately brings a positive feeling to the reader, and makes him want to read more. This is a selling ad for a sales letter but the same principles can be applied to any ad that is selling a product.

The 2nd type of headline would be one that creates immediate curiosity in your reader. For instance “have you ever wanted to be financially secure, but did not know how?” Questions excite curiosity, and everyone wants to be financially secure. This will grab your reader’s attention by appealing to his need and leads him into your next sentence the body of your ad to see what your solution might be. This would be for your small ad that is trying to get your visitor to click through to your sales page. This is a presell ad.

The body of your ad:

Will be where you will entice your reader with the benefits of your product. This will either persuade him to buy or click through. It is important to emphasize benefits not features, a common mistake. For instance “Fast and efficient service” is your feature and “No waiting for days, costing you valuable sales” is how it will benefit your reader. For a small ad 2-3 benefits are enough. You would add more for a larger solo ad. After you have excited your reader with the benefits of your product you will need a definite “call to action.” For instance, “Check it out for yourself” with the link. Look over your ads and put yourself in your reader’s shoes. Have you got headlines that will grab his attention? Does your ad give positive benefits? Lastly is there a positive “call for action?” If your ad does all this then you are ready to use it in your ad campaign. Your ad is your salesman; make sure you are using it in the most effective way.

Tips for Making Money from Your Website

Completing your own website is exciting, because now you have your very own store front to sell your products and services. Now you have your own site you can find many ways to make money apart from just selling your product/services. Sadly many webmasters miss out on income streams because they do not utilize all the moneymaking opportunities that can be used on their site.

Your website is your place of business and can be compared to a brick and mortar business or store. You can sell more than just your own products/services and make extra money with side ventures. Here are a few ways:

• Ad Sense
• Paid links
• Related affiliate programs
• Newsletter

Ad Sense: These are small ads from Google that you can put on your site and Google will pay you for any click through. Here is how to do it. https://www.google.com/adsense Once set up this will give you automatic income.

Paid links:
You can have a special place on the side of your website for advertisers to place paid links on your site. Keep these in one place and monitor carefully to keep the professional look of your site. A nominal monthly or weekly fee can be charged for this. Make a schedule sheet to keep track of these. This is also automated money.

Related affiliate programs:
These are good ways to make automated income. Join some good related affiliate programs. Put some links to reviews and teaser ads to pre sell your visitors and get them to click through, and you will have another source of income from your website.

Newsletter:

 

Your free newsletter is a must for any website. It is the best way to build your own business list and make long-term profit. Here is some information on newsletters. http://a1-newsletters.com

Here is the key to making these income streams work . In order to utilize these moneymaking streams, your 1st goal is to build large amounts of targeted traffic. 3 main ways of doing this are:

Search Engines •
• Pay-Per-Click and Google adwords
• Linking.

Once you have built up your traffic you can then start to implement these money making streams.

Giving Good Support to Your Customers and Leads

Customer service is what will set you and your business apart from your competition. It is critical to your enterprise that you treat every one of your leads and customers like the VIP’s they are. After all without them it would be impossible for your business to even exist. Sadly many businesses, especially big ones fail to realize this. They send short terse notes to their customers, which are obviously canned and often do not even reply within 24-48 hours. This leaves the customer or lead with serious doubts about the company and very frustrated.

Here are a few points to bear in mind:

The importance of customers and leads: As stated before, your customers are the reason you are in business and should be treated as the VIP’s they are. They are not, “just another dollar bill!” Give them a solution, if must refer them to the FAQ always be sure they will find a solution there. Encourage any further questions from your customers; always let them know that you will take care of them personally.

Your leads and potential customers deserve the best quality customer service that you can give. They are very valuable to your business and as each one of them could become your customer at any given time. Always extend free help and advice to these important people. No need to give away the store but do offer help and encouragement. This helps to build trust and credibility. This is a strong factor in a person’s decision to buy from you.

Fast response: No matter how busy you are emails from your customers will always be your first priority. Try to answer emails personally within 24 hours of receiving them. Fast response is greatly appreciated and will help you build a good business relationship with your customers and leads.

Write real emails not canned responses: If you are using a canned email response do not make it obvious and never send the same email twice, unless of course they did not receive it

Do not rely on Autoresponders for questions and cries for help: Do not use an autoresponder for questions and cries for help. Customers and leads need to hear from you personally and they need reassurance that the company they are dealing with is behind them 100%. Your communications represent your company. If you deal with all your customers in a personal way you will build up great business relationships and increase your business.

Of course as you grow, so will your email load. Sooner or later you will need to hire staff to take care of the customer service side of your business. Choose and screen your employees carefully. Train them well and let them know they are an integral part of your business.

My last job before I went into business for myself was working as a customer service representative for a large and highly motivated company “The Gap.” Anyone who loves jeans and good clothes has probably heard of them. They not only kept up good quality and were highly motivated but they trained the customer service representatives well. Customer service was number one and due to this they built up a huge and growing number of loyal customers. They let us, their employees, know that we were a part of the company and treated us well. There was a very low drop out rate and many employees were very loyal to the company. Now this is how to train and maintain good customer service representatives. With good employees you will keep up a high standard of customer service and keep your customers and leads loyal to your company.
