ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Vinod Modha is now pursuing writing for children in earnest during his long stays in India. Vinod has spent all his working life in research, development and implementation of telecommunications systems in UK. Vinod's passion is however writing and he has been vastly influenced by his father who taught English.
Since Vinod has a knack for keeping children entertained and amused (he has a total of fourteen nieces and nephews!), in the late eightees, he and his friend Gordon Morrow, (a teacher for children with 'special needs'), went round primary schools in Suffolk, England, entertaining children with Indian folk songs and tales. Children got to try out Indian percussion instruments like Tablas and so on. Vinod performed regularly at the Singing Jenny Folk Club in Huddersfield (UK) as well as at several venues in Suffolk (UK).
Together with his three brothers, Bharat, Rajiv and Jitendra, Vinod formed a band called Kiran and they have collaborated on creating upwards of fifty songs that they performed at various venues in West Yorkshire, Midlands and Suffolk in the UK.
Vinod wrote an award winning play in the eightees called "Dasharath's Dilemma". He also wrote an award winning script for a short film, "But...", which he then directed and produced. Vinod is currently editing his optioned screenplay "Lord Swaminarayan".
