DAD’S DAILY PRAYERS

This is the prayers written by a dad for his son:

I want his life to respect the victory of teaching, training and discipline with the period of years rather than the battle scars of quick fix skirmishes. I want his heart and mind to be filled with the pleasant memories of deep meaningful times together. I want him to see me as a loving father who shares the fun and pain of growing up. I want him to remember the times he came to me with his problems and concerns. I want to have listened and loved and helped. I would want him to know I wasn’t perfect. But that I had tried with everything, I had and that perhaps more than anyone in the world, I love him.

He said the reason he wants this is that deep down inside him, he values his children more than he values his role as their father. Your dad has similar or even more expanded prayers for you. Your dad knows the meaning of true love and he desires to protect his position with all he can. Even if it seems he is not getting it right yet, his thoughts, and daily prayer is you centered. You are the focal point of his love. He prioritizes you and purses a constant prayer plan. You may not see him always on knees but everywhere he goes and whatever he does, he acknowledges that you need his prayers. You do Remember David. He prayed for his son Solomon. Solomon was in a seat he wasn’t used to. David his father knew the seat was quite hot and so as his son was taking over his seat he had to pray for him to achieve success on that seat. Dad has seen quite a lot and as you grow, he knows you are going to see as much or more so, he prays that you have the strength to absorb and comprehend the challenges.

You can’t describe the extent of love dad has for you. This love is such a strong bond that can keep him constantly on his knees for you, “Oh, that my desire for John comes true. Lord! Keep him from the eyes of the wicked.” Straighten his path oh Lord. Even if you get it wrong sometimes, his prayer does not end. His prayers persist to ensure that path is straightened. It’s for this reason John Clardill commented, every parent is sometime the father of the unreturned prodigal with nothing to do but keep his house open to hope.

Dad knows the power of prayers. He has learnt what his dad’s prayers did. He has studied Abraham’s life, Isaac, and even Jacob. Theirs was a history of prayer transfer. Abraham prayed for Isaac, Isaac did same to Jacob and Jacob transferred some to his sons. Your granddad prayed for dad it is only normal that those prayers are transferred to you. But this prayer involves a chain of sacrifices. Dad has sleepless nights and even periods of fasting just because of you. Yes, his dad did same but he knows he has to do more.

Dad knows you are meant to surpass. You are meant to outdo. He does not see any limitation before you especially when he is doing the praying. Your dad may not be the religious type but it will shock you to note that he stills prays. He believes there is someone up there who hears him. And however, he prays God understands his silent words to him on your behalf.

Dad’s prayers are prevailing. Every mountain on your path to success is pulled down as he prays. He prevails earnestly for you. No matter how challenging, he knows what can happen when he talks to God on your behalf and he is bent on ensuring he does not leave you alone.

This is an example of Dad’s prayer:

My Father in Heaven

I call at this hour called eleven

On behalf of my child

As he sleeps so mild

You have given me this one

As a promise well done

I know he is great

I can only accept your rate.

Thank you for his life

He’s been the child of my strife.

You’ve made him

His light beams

He has a way so long

The future comes with its thorns

Guide him in his path

Guard him against the evil brats

Hold his hands every time

Let him know life has no time

Lord teach him to trust you

Let him know you’d stick with him as glue

Even when he is drifting

Draw him close to you swiftly.

Let him know I and Mum love him.

Keep the eyes of the wicked from him.

Teach him the power of faith

Let him learn the patience to wait

Money isn’t everything

Service is something.

Teach him this virtue

Let him live a life righteous

Take him to the mountain top

Let him learn his place is up

Thank you because you’ve heard me

I know as I’ve said so it will be

Amen.

Dad believes strongly that God answers prayers. As he sees you grow, he is always joyful seeing you an epitome of God’s glory. What a great son or daughter of your dad you are? Your growth and success is affirming that your dad indeed was not resting on his oars. God is hearing dad’s cry and prayer and he is sending speedy answers. Next time you achieve another feet, don’t forget that someone was busy doing the praying. Someone was sitting right at your back pleading to God on your behalf.

Have no fear whatsoever. In your pursuit for growth and advancement, you can trust your dad’s always around. God knows dad has the right words you would love to listen to see you get to the top the best you will have to be. All he expects from you is “just keep faith” . Keep faith with dad. Greatness and uncommon achievement will come as dad goes on his knees.

Dad’s prayers are very powerful. Certainly, dad’s negative prayers also get answers as his positive prayers for you. It is in your place not to allow dad exhaust his energy on negative prayers. Find a way always to get the positive prayers from him. Do you remember the children of Jacob? Not all of them got the same prayers from Jacob. While some were blessed, others were cursed. But Jacob was still their dad. What made some receive curse? It was because they had done evil things that hurt dad. To get dad’s positive prayers, we must use our energies in pursuance of right worthy tasks. These positive prayers are to see you the champion and great person dad desires to see you be.
