Stargate
Stargate, Stargate, come-from-afar gate
transporting travellers hither and yon
wormhole technology, mythic cosmology,
letting us go where no human has gone.
Lets us discover the secrets of others,
races so ancient it staggers the mind;
races so alien, sesquipedalian,
they've left our scientists aeons behind.
Come now, accompany me on an odyssey
seeking celestial deities of old.
Let us not censure the sense of adventure
in stories like these of the brave and the bold.
A Pity
She sits alone in her ivory tower
making up verses, some sweet and some sour;
'tis pity she's not getting paid by the hour!
