Dear Lover,

You may need to be concerned if you hear howling in the daylight, and you’re the only one who hears it. You’ve never called me a cunt before. I’ve never known the feeling of worthless. I know between my cast iron head and steel ass, I didn’t leave very much unguarded.

So I guess you finally learned to stab me in my soft spots, although you used blunt objects. But people knocked on wooden doors with tree trunks, so somehow you got into me, and left fractured splinters on my doorstep. Clean that shit up. I know we could still baptize and drown our sins. So if you hear howling in the daylight, you’re not the only one who hears it. I hear it too, when I’m clawing, sleepless, at your door, wishing you’d let me in again.

P.S. This letter is just a courtesy. I kept the key to your apartment.
