The Eternal Garden

It’s always there

the moment that changes

when something or other

breaking the surface

disarranges

memory, your face.

It’s always there

your face behind my eyes

caught in nowhere

like time.

It’s no surprise,

only a rhyme.

It’s only a song

set out to tell

of a long love

done wrong

by what befell

timeless Eve.

Eve

foreshadowing all

went out to sing

how to leave

meant something

before the Fall.
