A Prayer Tonight Let Me Say

A prayer tonight let me say Though great my belief may not be For in times of need I pray And ask God to help me. Though believe in him greatly I do not I don’t hesitate to plead To him for assistance
When great is my need. It was like the banshee,
The miller said of the apparition,
When these neighbours died, the spectre you'd see, So was local superstition,
And so all a prayer they said,
For their own and the deceased sake, Its not told the name of who was dead, Or if the miller and his neighbour slept or stayed awake!
