What have we been chasing
someone who doesn’t care
about anything beyond their nasal drip
something that only leaves you wanting
more than another headache
and an empty cup

where have we been going
where will we end up
if we keep on going
in that direction

where have we been looking
for comfort, it shows in how we cope
those raving
are the ones feeling foundations crumbling
that sinking feeling
that comes at the end of a Titanic viewing

maybe there’s something better
we could be choosing
