Once is Not Enough
I've seen sunrises
leading
to wonderful day,
and sunsets
promising
nights of passion.
I've owned
rainbows,
and dreams
that came true.
I've had lovers
whispering
sighing
crying:
"Love."
My dawns
and dusks,
dreams
and lovers
have been just once
then
gone.
I never complained,
and never did mind
that nothing
lasts.
Till this one time with you
(when your love touched my mind
and your hands held my soul.)
Has now,
like old calendar pages,
become a memory.
I think it's sad
that sometimes,
like the one time with you,
once is not enough.
