Chong Ch’ol (1536~1593)




Chong Ch’ol was an official in the Choson court. A brilliant but controversial man, his career was punctuated by periods of voluntary retirement, dismissal and exile. A noted vernacular poet of shijo and kasa, he also wrote some fine poems in Chinese.
