Pak Chiwon was the finest prose stylist of his age but did not consider himself very adept at poetry. “Thinking of My Dead Brother in Yonam”, however, shows a very refined poetic sensibility. Pak Chiwon’s love for his family was legendary; the sense of loss goes right to the heart.
