BEAUTY IS WHAT YOU DEFINE IT TO BE
I sat by my window, putting ink to paper as I stared without a blink into the garden before me. The melodious chirpings of the flying small birds had gradually turned into a rhythmic bird song in my ears. I tried to study the blue tailed, black bodied and yellow beaked creatures..
As if shy of being observed, the little creature blushes away noisily. Only then did my consciousness open to the big tree with thick barks that the little creature had perched upon all the while. Its leaves were shining green at the reflection of the sun rays and they seemed to be waving at me as the cool breeze passed them by. I was moved by this act that I waved back at it.
Suddenly, a loud hissing nearby jerked me to consciousness and right under the tree, on the lustrous carpet green grass, laid the creator of the sound. It was a long green creature, which flickered at intervals something like a black rubber thread. It seemed to be having a time-out stroll. It eventually wriggled majestically away into a nearby bush and I began to wish it had stayed longer.
In my fantasy, my phone's Facebook App beeped. A friend had just accepted my request. Upon opening the friend's profile picture, what befell me was a complement of the beauty I had been seeing all day. Her eyes gazed right at me as if to be real before me. Her teeth were as white as precious marbles and she dazzled in her smile. My! What a beauty.
I stared back into the paper before me for hours, short of words to put down. All I had seen so far, are they what constitute the world's beauty? Can beauty be used to define them all? I concluded that beauty is what you define it to be. Look around you. We are surrounded by beauty. We live with beauty. We are beauty.
Imagine what the world would be like if we inspire ourselves with the beauty that surrounds us.
