Business as Usual

(Isaiah 61:1-3)

We all go through life business as usual,
Haphazardly using twenty-four hours every day;
Before we know it years have gone by,
Life is meaningless if approached that way.

We should purpose ourselves to make a change,
Today is as good a time to plant seeds for growth;
If we nurture each flower in the garden called life
Our usual business would create lives of worth.

Business As Usual
Saying words to soothe the soul,
To introduce to others
one who can make them whole;

Business As Usual
Telling everyone that Jesus cares,
He’ll comfort them when they can’t get beyond their fears.

Business As Usual
Lending an ear when someone needs to talk,
To let them know Jesus hears them when the day seems dark;

Business As Usual
Looking beyond ourselves to others who have less,
Offering everlasting life available through Jesus’ death.

When the minutes have drifted into hours,
And today has marched into tomorrow;
We’ll know we have done our best to help rid the world of sin’s sorrow.

The flowers in our garden will remind us of accomplished goals, and sacrifices we made every day;
Sacrifices that transformed ‘Business As Usual’ into a Christ-like display.
