Changes (via 2001)

Rearrange, the way we are, the way we were
To advance the faith of change, free as a bird
Words to become an intellectual race not of color
But one of wisdom, radiant as the new mother

Beams marching forth strong and bold
Without impulsive reactions of stereotypes told
Let us be a reliable force of intellectuality
And spirituality to pierce evil principalities

The principle of the matter is change of mind
Of heart and of soul, invading this time
Instead of picking up in anger a gun
We'll pick up a pen and with it, peaceably run

With our wisdom, wealthy with the smarts of the heart
It's within the individual that comes a new start
Of a new day, a dawning of mankind
So i step forward strong, making the future mine

And not leave destiny up to chance
Or leave it in another brother's hands
Change is ours for the taking, even for the giving
Taking full responsibility for the lives we're living

Indeed be angry, yet not with one another
Have anger towards ignorance, encouraging the brother
