Release (via 2001)

Everyone needs a release

Some form of venting pain

Some may read, some may rage

Some may pray, some ride a train

Some may relax to a movie

Some may break stuff

Some may call a loved one

Some with razors say Enough

But there's healing in tears

A sweet release of emotion

An overflow of a filled cup

A cup midst the commotion

Some hold back this healing

They become cold and distant

Like the pressure of a balloon

To blow in a rapid instant

Let the tears come and heal

Hide alone if that's the wish

Let your cup run over

Like filled coffee upon a dish

Tears of salty preservatives

cleansing, cleaning the inside

Freeing the mind of clutter

There's more room inside
