THE FIRE

I contemplate

the tongues of fire

in the hearth,

they remind me of you.

In the light of the bonfire

I see your moon face,

your starry eyes,

your planetary smile.

The flames,

bluish and pink,

intertwine

like our lives.

The fire crackles

with different sounds,

some brazen, others hushed,

these are our voices.

Our voices

that are

sometimes angry

are happy other times.

I feel the heat

of the fire,

it is your warmth

that gives me love.

This is the fire

that melted me into your life.

In the light of love

and eternal fire.
