THE GOLDEN FISH

Woman of mine,

you are trapped

in my poetry’s web.

Like a golden fish,

I will place you in

my soul’s pond.

You will navigate

my sea of a thousand waves

until you reach

the port of my soul,

where you will set your anchor

and stay for an eternal life.

What sea and what light!

Vinyards in the sea,

where I will get drunk

off your sweetness,

killing life’s bitterness,

our love pleases God.

We will kiss

on the seashore,

on the flowering land

where the waves sing

and where you can see

the reflection of the marble moon.

Each step in life

will be on a peaceful path

with no labyrinth of thorns.

The sky will be transparent,

the mountains will shine,

our life will be a song.
