FRIENDS

(With thanks to the friends who’ve stuck with me over the years, and in gratitude to Sue.)

A friend is a woman who understands Your dreams and hopes they’ll come true, But more than that, she does all she can To help you achieve them, too.

But if they’re all wrong, the dreams that you dream, She patiently sees you through,
Then picks up each part of your broken heart, And helps you start over anew.

I’d like to thank my good friends, And make them amends
For all that I’ve put those girls through.

I’ve depended on Patricia and Dawn,
And leaned on Marian, too.
There’s been dear Maria and Ros, whom I fear Despaired that I’d ever pull through.
Pauline inspires me, while Wendy requires me To keep my feet on the ground;
So does Estelle, and Tina as well,
And Tilly’s always been round.
Shona’s been a friend right to the end. Beth and Mandy stood by me, too.
Joyce and Jill are with me still.
Karen understood what no-one else could, And last of all there’s been Sue.
