UNHINGED

Without restraint

And without much sense

I lived unabashedly free,

My life was a wreck.

Careless were my steps

The footsteps to my death

Deafening darkness my fate

A life meagerly spent.

Miserly in my faith,

Absent in compassion

Drugs and drinking

My only bastion.

I clung to emptiness,

Hatred my only passion.

Death is a formidable foe,

An enchanting one, indeed!

With the sound of my shadows,

My life is weakening-

Death quickly approaches me.

A darkness I now clearly see.

I pray for redemption

I pray to be set free.
