YOU ALONE

Who am I that you would offer your life for me?

I am but a passing notion,

I am unknown to my own family.

Who am I that you would die for me?

I’m no fool, I can clearly see-

My life offers nothing- no collateral, no profit.

I am both a negative and a risk.

Soon in this life, my dead bones

Will cause much pain to the one

Obligated to lay my body to rest.

You, my Lord have raised me up

In you, I am somehow blessed.
