DARK SPACES

The person you pretended to be-

I should have seen the signs.

I suppose desperation threw me off a bit.

Me allowing the charade

Proved to be just as insane

As the insanity you portrayed.

I sent you packing on your way

Several times before.

You hounded and deluded me

With guilt and shame-

I was living in depravity,

And you were somebody

Who seemed to be there-

I had to gain my dignity

In order be released of

The darkness in the air.
