DEPRAVITY

Content to be me-

I am finally settled in this skin!

No longer must I ration

My laughter for pacified grins.

Laughter, I can finally laugh!

The tides have subsided

No longer do I wallow

In my depravity.

To see me a while ago,

This is something you wouldn’t know.

To see the previous me

Means watching a dark tale

Of unhinged lunacy.

There simply is no rhyme or reason

To this sorrow I’ve defeated.

I pass by my enemies

And cast a confident smile.

Life is madness

It asks for gratitude

But demands grit

How can I be both

Gracious and strong?
