3.6 - End of an Epic Era
In the realm of fantastic fiction,
A river of ink snakes wild,
Between ridges of crumpled notes
And shreds of wasted paper.
A drizzle of sweat and tears
Drowns the saplings of fresh ideas
While bitter weeds proliferate
On freshly dug graves
Of former reputations.
A fairy tale screams in despair
When an essay murders a poem
For falling in love with a novel.
In the desert of daily documents,
A sandstorm of critique
Buries the ruined remainders
Of a once mighty palace,
Built by the Sultans of Song
Out of heartbeats and sighs.
In the cold, concrete jungle,
Under the ocean of ignorance,
Gray-eyed rulers dictate
And all that remains are the facts.
