Pitchforks of Arched Rubber

The pitchforks dig deep

While we sleep

The rubber can’t hurt us

Even if it sticks into us....

We arch ourselves

Over the balcony of sunlight

And we fall back to an empty space

An empty space where we STILL see sunlight,

Shining down

On us

We leap AGAIN

Dragging the arched rubber

That can’t hurt us

Over the arch-like balcony of light

The spiralling sun set behind us,

Where

We want to see it

The sun tries to trick us

But that won’t work,

So sorry to say
We leap ONCE AGAIN

The BIGGEST LEAP of them all....

And fall into the empty world BEFORE US....

Never to be seen again,

UNFORTUNATELY
