Love is a priceless jewel that is never hidden but open to all that seek it with honest and full sincerity from the heart. It walks in silence, but only those who understand the voice of silence will always find it and when they find it, they never remain the same. Seasons may come that will drift them and try to sieve them, but they will never let it go. Love does not give up. Love does not run away in times of pain and sorrow, instead it stays with you, consoles you, comforts you, and gives you hope; that all will be well.
The Rose of Sharon, is not just a book of love poetry but a reflection on the true events based on romantic love. Each poems in this book sprung from the heart, to appreciate the one true love of my life whom I can’t give further details though. I have come to learn that a journey of romantic love is not an easy journey, not for the faint hearted. There are obstacles, storms, potholes but in the end, it requires persistence, common understanding, forgiveness and above all the love of God.
I wrote this book solely for the woman who has taught me what being in love means. I verily understand that we all have different desires, wishes and needs when it comes to love, which sometimes may be thwarted by our own feeling and circumstances. When you find true love, you have found something worth more than a treasure. I am not ignorant of treasures though, but love surpasses all of them. Love remains still no matter what happens. Love will give you a purpose and a meaning. And this woman gave me a meaning in life. She believed in me when I wasn’t even able to believe in myself. She was my pillar, my hope and my joy.
This book is for everyone. It has no age restriction. Read through every poem, don’t rush, and just take your time. To have total enjoyment of love poetry, you must be slow, read it and digest it. Try to bring it your life. If you find one piece that pleases you beyond measure, don’t hesitate to share it with your beloved.
It’s my prayer and desire that you will find joy in the words you are about to dine.
