When beggars pray - Mirjam Epie Bide

Jesus,

I pray,

that you arise

the courage to faith in

my heart

once again.

So that out of the ashes of

 sin, doubt and pain,

the delicate flower of trust will

grow

into a tree

one day.

Who knows,

one day

a tree.

Touch

my battered heart,

I pray,

to ask and receive,

I pray.

To come as I am,

I pray,

to you as you are.

To meet the One,

I pray,

who was always there

and is always near

and will always be,

 and love

and mercy me.

Draw me near,

I pray.

Make this day a day

of glory touching ground

and beggars wearing crowns

of trust as large as trees.

Boasting how He

has set them free.

Has poured

glimpses of eternity

into their souls of unbelief

and led them home

and let them be

His Own

His Own

His Own.
