CONTROVERSIAL Á-LA-CARTE

The day was bathed in sunlight

when I met my knight

You stood there proud like an Arabic horse

You took my heart by force

Your skin so Sahara brown

Your voice gentle without a frown

We danced in our words

We found the bell chords

We were not shy for the sky

Your kisses were as sweet as a pie

The sun glittered on us

We were on the paradise bus

Our words were without thorns

No more lobster-scorns

You came from the sea

I enjoyed drinking tea

You loved Vegemite

I loved heights

Would they give us a change

We laid in the Beerwah range

We sang our sunrise song

You wore a pink thong

I gave you my wheelchair-heart

You were my controversial à-la-carte

Was the word of mouth wrong

when they gave me your song

The love-dove flown over us

I wore my wedding dress
