The Winter
Warm nights by the fire when outside there's snow,
As leaves fall; one would rather stay indoors.
As lampposts shine, they keep the lights mellow.
A path on the outside, where walks a crow,
Its squawk will echo all around the moors.
Warm nights by the fire when outside there's snow.
A cat lost its way, walking to-and-fro,
Calling out for shelter as the rain pours.
As lampposts shine, they keep the lights mellow.
As fir trees rustle, they droplets do throw,
And a loud sound can be heard by the boars.
Warm nights by the fire when outside there's snow.
Wilder winds as the nights darken do grow,
Dogs listen attentively on all fours.
As lampposts shine, they keep the lights mellow.
A man raises a cold, hallowing brow,
Making his entry out of closing stores.
Warm nights by the fire when outside there's snow,
As lampposts shine, they keep the lights mellow.
