Penguins

Black and white,

Like a tux

In frozen lands,

We do survive.

A flightless bird.

Though we have wings,

We swim like fish,

But with our feet.

We have many relatives

All over the world.

Some live in zoos.

And live in other countries.

We have traditions

For getting mates

Just like humans,

Except we mate for life.

During the harshest of month

The females look for food,

Away from the males

Who hold onto the eggs.

We are hatched from eggs

Like normal birds

But fathers care for us

Until mothers return.

Many movies are made

About the way we live.

Most are true

Others are cartoons.

We live in colonies

By the thousands.

We love each other

And everyone around us.

Who are we?

What are we?

We are birds,

And we are called Penguins.
