Ode To Lunacy

O you bright, brilliant mesmeric thing,

Why not lift up your voice? Raise your voice and sing!

Here on earth is a place where angels take wing,

And to eternity hymn their wedding vow.

Beneath the glow of incandescent night,

Acronychal cryptic acme of insight! Vagrant's delight!

For us whose eyes are pure there is plenty of light,

Also a good time for tipping a cow.

Let your wild fancies trample across the skies,

Don't let them closet you! With their wherefores and whys,

Such prim impostures bring only sighs,

Forget the formless future, embrace the now.

For there is reason in all things, madness too;

Dionysian frenzy, self-forgetfulness! Purge all fretfulness, undo the blue!

Transcend all boundaries, even rhyme a little ramshackle...

Anywhere the wind blows, here is my tabernacle.

As I sail by each lambent and illustrious star,

I may see you, finally see you discovering who you really are...

Everywhere there is strife, all things at war;

Watch over the turbulent seas, see the moon and softly crow...

A bright, life-shaped bubble of victory begins to glow.
