Congrats! It's the anniversary of your birth;
A time to weigh up what its all been worth.
A day to measure the pain against the joy,
To pass judgmentz on your father's potent portentous pride,
On your mother's contented, surrendering sigh.
To inflict such a hazard, can it ever be justified?
Is it not a sin to perpetuate this fallen world?
Could it be expected, a tree from time immemorial be denied?
So many wars and walls between the spirit and its being unfurled:
A fathomless fling of fate
Into which, on a merciless matrimonial knot,
Or just one bawdy blind date- an errant sperm-shot-
One can be so heedlessly hurled.
The lure of life is great,
The final verdict up for debate.
When it exists..
O, how it glitters and dances, always maddeningly just out of reach !
And how bitterly it calls out to us, through Time's tearful mysts..
How to live it, nobody will teach !
Sometimes the uncertainty makes you want to slit your wrists..
Thus, the truth you must search!
Only then must you take out the scales,
When lies acuminate into light, and illusion pales.
Only may you then find, even if the reading is still partly blind,
That the meter is for the moment kind-
Never knowing what final fatal warrant destiny has signed...
