Positively Red Hook Hat

By: Lion Brand Design Team

Size: Finished Circumference: About 19 in. (48.5 cm) will stretch to fit a range of sizes.

Materials:

LION BRAND HEARTLAND (Art. #136)

#113 Redwood 1 ball (A)

#109 Olympic 1 ball (B)

#173 Everglades 1 ball (C)

or colors of your choice

LION BRAND double pointed needles size 8 (5 mm), set of 5

LION BRAND stitch markers

LION BRAND large-eyed blunt needle

Circular knitting needle size 8 (5 mm), 16 in. (40.5 cm)

Gauge: 17 sts = about 4 in. (10 cm) in St st worked in the rnd (k every rnd). BE SURE TO CHECK

YOUR GAUGE.

When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern  and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches to  match the gauge, try using smal er size needles; if more stitches, try larger size needles.

Notes

1. Hat is worked from lower edge up to crown (top of Hat).

2. Hat is worked in the round, beg with a circular needle, then changing to double pointed  needles (dpns) when sts have been decreased.

3. If you prefer, the entire Hat can be worked on double pointed needles.

4. When working Stripe Sequence, carry colors not in use up wrong side of work.

5. To prevent a ‘jog’ when working stripes in the rnd, sl the first st of the second round worked  in each new color.
