He said: "So he supplicated to Allah, and He returned his sight to him, and the blind man believed. His case was conveyed to the king, so he sent for him to be brought before him. He said: 'I shall kill each of you in a manner different than his comrade was killed.' He called for the monk and the man who used to be blind. As for Isma„11 bin Muslim Al-„Abdi Al- Ba$ri, Waki„ said: “He is trustworthy.” It has been reported from Al-Hasan as well. What is correct is from Jundab in Mawqiif form. This Hadith_ is acted upon according to some of the people of knowledge among the Companions of the Prophet 0, and others, and it is the view of Malik bin Anas. Ash-Shafi„i said that the Sahir is only killed when the magic he practises reaches the level of disbelief, when his behavior is less than disbelief, then he did not see that he should be killed. Comments: No doubt magic and sorcery is one of the grievous sins and its practise is strictly prohibited and unlawful. Sometimes the practices of sorcery reach the boundary of infidelity and disbelief, and sometimes it remains within the limits of grievous sin, therefore, it"s teaching and learning are also unlawful. According to Ash-Shafi'i a magician should not be killed until he enters the boundaries of disbelief, but Imam Abu Hanifah, Imam Ahmad and many Companions of the Prophet and the followers of the Companions, think that the sorcerer is a disbeliever and that he does not deserve to be asked to repent. He should rather be killed. (See for details Al-Mughni IZI v. 12. P. 302-303.)

Ibn Mas'ud said about this verse;
"When that which shrouds shrouded the Lote-tree." (53: 16) The sidrah is at the sixth heaven." Sufyan said, "That which shrouds are butterflies of gold", and he indicated with his hand how they fly. He said: „When you people came along from the road, not a rock nor a tree was left, except that it prostrated, and they do not prostrate except for a Prophet. And I can recognize him by the seal of the Prophethood which is below his shoulder blade, like an apple." Then he went back, and made them some food, and when he brought it to them, he (the Prophet 3jH) was tending to the camels. So he said: „Send for him." So he came, and there was a cloud over him that was shading him. When he came close to the people, he found that they had beaten him to the tree's shade. So when he sat down, the shade of the tree leaned towards him. He (the monk) said:
'Look at the shade of the tree leaning towards him." He said: "So while he was standing over them, telling them not to take him to Rome with him - because if the Romans were to see him, they would recognize him by his description, and they would kill him - he turned, and there were seven people who had come from Rome. Then those who are nearest to the bearers of the Throne say to the bearers of the Throne:
'What did your Lord say?' They say: 'The truth; and He is the Most High, the Most Great' (cf. 34:23). And they say:
'Such and such.' And the people of the heavens tell one another the news, until the news reaches the lowest heaven, and the devils come and tiy to listen to the news so they can convey it to their familiars and throw it to them .
Whatever they narrate as they heard it is true, but they add to it and mix lies with it and omit from it." Comments:

18 8 2 . It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: The Messenger of Allah (^ ) was sitting with a group of his Companions - 'Abdur-Razzaq said: of the Ansar - and a shooting star appeared and shone brightly. The Messenger of Allah (^ ) said to them: "What did you used to say during the Jahiliyyah if you saw something like this (i.e., a shooting star)?" They said: We used to say that a great man will be bom, or that a great man will die. -1 [the narrator] said to az-Zuhri: Were there shooting stars during the Jahiliyyah? He said: Yes, but they became bigger when the Prophet (jfe) was sent. - The Messenger of Allah (^ ) said: "It does not appear for the death or life of anyone, but when our Lord, may His name be blessed and exalted, decrees some matter, the bearers of the Throne glorify Him, then the people of heaven who are closest to them glorify Him, until the tasbeeh reaches the people of the lowest heaven. Then the people of heaven who are nearest to the bearers of the Throne ask (about what Allah decreed); those who are nearest to the bearers of the Throne say to the bearers of the Throne: 'What did your Lord AHMAD say?' And they tell them. Then the people of each heaven tell the people of the next heaven, until the news reaches this (the lowest) heaven. Then the eavesdropping jinn snatch what they can, and (these shooting stars) are thrown at them. What they narrated as they heard it is true, but they add lies to it."
2 2 71. It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: The Messenger of Allah (Щ) did not recite Qur'an to the jinn and he did not see them. The Messenger of Allah (#г.) set out with a group of his companions, heading towards the market of 'U kaz. The devils had been prevented from hearing the news of heaven, and shooting stars had been sent against them. The devils went back to their people, who said: What is the matter with you? They said: Something is preventing us from hearing the news of heaven, and shooting stars have been sent against us. They said: That can only be because some thing has happened; travel throughout the earth, east and west, and see what it is that is preventing you from hearing the news of heaven. So they went and traveled throughout the earth, east and west, to find out what was preventing them from hearing the • news of heaven. The group that ; headed towards Tihamah came to the Messenger of Allah (йё) when he was in Nakhlah, on his way to the market of 'Ukaz, and he was leading his companions in Fajr prayer. When they heard the ^ Qur'an, they listened to it, and said: This, by Allah, is what has prevented us from hearing the news of heaven. Then they went back to their people and said: О our people, "Verily! We have heard ^ a wonderful Recitation (this Qur'an)! It guides to the Right Path, and we have D
believed therein' [al-Jinn 72:1]. Then Allah revealed to His Prophet . (iЈi): "Say (O Muhammad): It has been AM revealed to me that..." [al-Jinn 72:1]. And what was revealed to him was what the jinn said.

When you go to the Prophet (jjfc;), convey our salams to him and tell him that I am collecting their zakah; if it was good for him we would have sent it to him. 2 7 0 7 . It was narrated that Abut- Tufail said: I said to Ibn 'Abbas (4--): Your people are saying that the Messenger of Allah (#$) trotted around the House and that it is Sunnah. At the time of al-Hudaibiyah, Quraish said: Leave Muhammad and his Companions alone until they die like the worm that falls from the nose of HMA an animal [an-naghaf. said to belittle a man and remark on his weakness]. When it was agreed that they would come the following year and stay in Makkah for three days, the Messenger of Allah (sg) came and the mushrikeen were watching from the direction of Qu'aiqi'an. The Messenger of Allah (*Ј,) said to his Companions: "Trot around the House three times." But it is not Sunnah. I said; And your people say that he went between as-Safa and al-Marwah on a camel and that that is Sunnah. He said: They are telling the truth and they are lying. I said: How are they telling the truth and lying? He said: They are telling the truth, he did go between as-Safa and al-Marwah on a camel, but they are lying, because that is not Sunnah. He said: Wait here until I bring them to you. He went and brought them, and they started swearing by Allah that they had not said that and they have not done that. Then Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, revealed the words: "On the Day when Allah will resurrect them ail together (for their account) then they will swear to Him and they swear to you (O Muslim).
