(2). 3340. Suhaib narrated: "When the Messenger of Allah ii had performed 'Ar, Hamasa (he began mumbling)" - and Al-Hams according to some of them, is moving the lips as if he is speaking - "It was said to him: '0 Messenger of Allah! After you performed 'Asr, you were mumbling?' He said: 'There was a Prophet TIRMI among the Prophets, he was amazed with his people, so he said: "Who can stand against these people?" Then Allah revealed to him, that they must choose between some of them suffering from wrath, and between enemies of theirs assaulting them. They chose the wrath. So death was inflicted upon them such that seventy-thousand of them died in one day." nHe said: And when he['] would arrate this Hadith, he would also narrate another: "There was a king among the kings, and that king had a fortune-teller (Kahin) who would see for him. The fortune-teller said: „Search for a boy for me, he must be understanding" or he said: "clever and quick, so that I can teach him this knowledge of mine. For verily, I fear that I shall die, and this knowledge will be removed from you, and there will be no one among you who knows it." He said: "They looked for a boy fitting his description. (After finding one) they ordered him to tend to that fortune-teller, and to continue visiting him. So he began his frequent visits, and on the boy's route, there was a monk at his hermitage." - Ma'mar said: "I think that during that time, the people at the hermitage were Muslims" - He said: "The boy began asking that monk questions each time he passed him, and he would not leave him until he informed him, so he said: 'I only worship Allah." He said: "So the boy began spending more time with the monk and arriving late to the fortune-teller. The fortune-teller sent a message to the boy's family saying: 'He hardly ever attends me.' The boy told that to the monk, so the monk said to him: I 'When the fortune-teller asks you where you've been, tell him: "I was with my family." And when your family Z

asks you where you've been, then tell them that you were with the fortune-teller." He said: "One day, the boy IM passed by a large group of people being held back by a beast." Some of them said, it was a lion. He said: “So the R

boy took a rock and said: „O

I

Allah, if what the monk says is true, then I ask you to kill it." [He said:] "Then he T

threw the rock, killing the beast. The people began asking who killed it, and some of them replied: 'It was the boy.' They were terrified and said: 'This boy has learned a knowledge that no one else has learned." He said: "A blind man heard about him, so he said to him: 'If you can return my sight, I shall give you this and that.' He said to him: 'I do not want this from you. However, if your sight is returned to you, would you believe in the One who gave it back to you?' He said: 'Yes." He said: "So he supplicated to Allah, and He returned his sight to him, and the blind man believed. His case was conveyed to the king, so he sent for him to be brought before him. He said: 'I shall kill each of you in a manner different than his comrade was killed.' He called for the monk and the man who used to be blind. He placed a saw upon the forehead of one of them and killed him. Then he killed the other one by a different means. Then he gave orders for the boy, he said: 'Take him to this or that mountain, and throw him from its peak.' They brought him to that mountain, and when they reached the place from where they intended to cast him off, they began tumbling off of that mountain, and all of them fell down until none of them remained except for the boy.” He said: “Then he returned and the king ordered that he be brought out to sea and cast into it. So he was brought out to sea, but Allah drowned those who were with him, and He saved him. Then the boy said to the king: 'You will not kill me until you tie me to the trunk of a tree and shoot me, and when you shoot me, you IZI say: "In the Name of Allah, the Lord of this boy." He said: "So he ordered that he be tied, then when he shot him, he said: 'In the Name of Allah, the Lord of this boy.' The boy placed his hand upon his temple where he was shot, IRM then he died. The people said: 'This boy had knowledge that no one else had! Verily we believe in the Lord of this T boy!" He said: It was conveyed to the king "Your efforts have been thwarted by the opposition of these three, now all of these people have opposed you." He said: "So he had ditches dug, then fire wood was filled into it and a fire was lit. Then he (the king) had all of the people gathered and he said: 'Whoever leaves his religion, then we shall leave him. And whoever does not leave, we shall cast him into this fire.' So he began casting them into that ditch."

He said: "Allah, Blessed is He and Most High, said about that: 'Cursed were the People of the Ditch. Of fire fed with fuel...' until he reached: '...The Almighty, Worthy of all praise! He said: “As for the boy, he was buried.” He 527 / 534

Ibn 'Umar narrated that the Prophet , said: "Allah's curse is upon the woman who lengthens hair and the woman who seeks to have her hair lengthened, and the woman who tattoos and the woman who seeks to have herself tattooed." 11 (Sahih) Nгfi' (one of the narrators) said: "Tattooing was on the gums." „Elsa said:] We do not know of this Hadith to be Marfd„ except from this route. Isma„l! bin Muslim AI-MakkI was graded weak in Hadith due to his memory. As for Isma„11 bin Muslim Al-„Abdi Al- Ba$ri, Waki„ said: “He is trustworthy.” It has been reported from Al-Hasan as well. What is correct is from Jundab in Mawqiif form. This Hadith_ is acted upon according to some of the people of knowledge among the Companions of the Prophet 0, and others, and it is the view of Malik bin Anas. Ash-Shafi„i said that the Sahir is only killed when the magic he practises reaches the level of disbelief, when his behavior is less than disbelief, then he did not see that he should be killed. Comments: No doubt magic and sorcery is one of the grievous sins and its practise is strictly prohibited and unlawful. Sometimes the practices of sorcery reach the boundary of infidelity and disbelief, and sometimes it remains within the limits of grievous sin, therefore, it"s teaching and learning are also unlawful. According to Ash-Shafi'i a magician should not be killed until he enters the boundaries of disbelief, but Imam Abu Hanifah, Imam Ahmad and many Companions of the Prophet and the followers of the Companions, think that the sorcerer is a disbeliever and that he does not deserve to be asked to repent. He should rather be killed. (See for details Al-Mughni IZI v. 12. P. 302-303.)

Chapter 53 About surah an- Najm (3287) Ibn Mas'ud (RA) reported that when Allah's Messenger (SAW) IRMT reached sidratul muntahah (during his mi'raj)-muntahah is to which one ascends from earth and from which one descends to earth-Allah gave him three things that were never given to any Prophet (SAW) before him. The five times salah was prescribed for him, the concluding verses of surah al-Baqarah were given to him, and his ummah were forgiven all major sins as long as they do not associate anything with Allah. Ibn Mas'ud said about this verse;

"When that which shrouds shrouded the Lote-tree." (53: 16) The sidrah is at the sixth heaven." Sufyan said, "That which shrouds are butterflies of gold", and he indicated with his hand how they fly. Maalik ibn Mighwal and others said that at this point the knowledge of the creatures ends none of them has knowledge beyond that.

Chapter 18. Comments: In Arabic language „Awrah" means those parts of the human body that must be covered and kept in hidden from others. It is indecent to keep those parts uncovered. It is proved by this narration that a woman should veil from strangers. If she goes out uncovered it will create problems for others and for her. So she should go out, if it is necessary, by covering herself.

Chapter 3. What Has Been Related About The Beginning Of The Prophet"s Prophethood 3620. Abu Musa Al-RI AshaTl said: “Abu Jalib departed to Ash-Sham, and the Prophet % left with him, along with some older men from T

the Quraish. When they came across the monk they stopped there and began setting up their camp, and the monk, came out to them. Before that they used to pass by him and he wouldn"t come out nor pay attention to them.” He said: “They were setting up their camp when the monk was walking amidst them, until he came and took the hand of the Messenger of Allah J||. Then he said: „This is the master of the men and jinn, this is the Messenger of the Lord of the worlds. Allah will raise him as a mercy to the men and jinn." So some of the older people from the Quraish said: „What do you know?" He said: „When you people came along from the road, not a rock nor a tree was left, except that it prostrated, and they do not prostrate except for a Prophet. And I can recognize him by the seal of the Prophethood which is below his shoulder blade, like an apple." Then he went back, and made them some food, and when he brought it to them, he (the Prophet 3jH) was tending to the camels. So he said: „Send for him." So he came, and there was a cloud over him that was shading him. When he came close to the people, he found that they had beaten him to the tree's shade. So when he sat down, the shade of the tree leaned towards him. He (the monk) said:

'Look at the shade of the tree leaning towards him." He said: "So while he was standing over them, telling them not to take him to Rome with him - because if the Romans were to see him, they would recognize him by his description, and they would kill him - he turned, and there were seven people who had come from Rome. So he IZI faced them and said: „Why have you come?" They said: „We came because this Prophet is going to appear during this month, and there isn"t a road left except that people have been sent to it, and we have been informed of him, and IRMT we have been sent to this road of yours." So he said: „Is there anyone better than you behind you?" They said: „We only have news of him from this road of yours.' He said: 'Do you think that if there is a matter which Allah wishes to bring about, there is anyone among the people who can turn it away?' They said: 'No." He said: "So they gave him their pledge, and they stayed with him. And he said: 'I ask you by Allah, which of you is his guardian?' They said: 'AbU Talib.' So he kept adjuring him until AbU Talib returned him, (back to Makkah) and he sent Abfl Bakr and Bilгl with him. And the monk gave him provisions of Ka'k (a type of bread) and olive oil." JINNS, WITCHCRAFT, INTERESTING MOMENTS – AHMAD

3 7 5 6 . It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin Mas'ood that the Prophet (Й*) said: "Horses are of three types: horses that are for the Most Merciful, horses that are for man, and horses that are for the Shaitan. As for horses that are for the Most Merciful, they are the ones that are allocated for {jihad) for the sake of Allah; (their owner will be rewarded for) their food, dung and urine - and he mentioned whatever Allah willed. As for the horses that are for the Shaitan, they are those on which people gamble and bet. As for the horses that are ior man, they are horses that a man keeps for breeding and they ward off poverty.

211. It was narrated that Masrooq bin al-Ajda' said: I met 'Umar bin al-Khattab and he said: Who are you? I said: Masrooq bin al-Ajda'. 'Amir said: I saw his name written in the Deewan: Masrooq bin 'Abdur- Rahman. I said: What is this? He said: This is what 'Umar (>%) called me.

719. It was narrated that 'Ali bin Abi Talib (.&) said: On Friday, the devils emerge to try to push the people to the markets, and they have banners with them. The angels sit at the doors of the mosques, writing down people's names according to their status: the one who comes early, the one who prays, and the one who comes after him, until the imam comes out. Whoever is close to the imam and is silent or listens, and does not engage in idle talk, will have a twofold reward. The one who is further away from the imam but is silent or listens, and does not engage in idle talk will have one reward. The one who is close to the imam but engages in idle talk and does not keep silent or listen will have a twofold burden of sin. The one who is further away from the imam and engages in idle talk and does not keep silent and listen will have one burden of sin. And the one who says, Be quiet, has spoken, and the one who speaks has no Jumu'ah. Then he said; This is what I heard your Prophet say. Comments: [Its isnad is da'eej\ 720. 2 2 71. It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: The Messenger of Allah (Щ) did not recite Qur'an to the jinn and he did not see them. The Messenger of Allah (#г.) set out with a group of his companions, heading towards the market of 'U kaz. The devils had been prevented from hearing the news of heaven, and shooting stars had been sent against them. The devils went back to their people, who said: What is the matter with you? They said: Something is preventing us from hearing the news of heaven, and shooting stars have been sent against us. They said: That can only be because some thing has happened; travel throughout the earth, east and west, and see what it is that is preventing you from hearing the news of heaven. So they went and traveled throughout the earth, east and west, to find out what was preventing them from hearing the • news of heaven. The group that ; headed towards Tihamah came to the Messenger of Allah (йё) when he was in Nakhlah, on his way to the market of 'Ukaz, and he was leading his companions in Fajr prayer. When they heard the ^ Qur'an, they listened to it, and said: This, by Allah, is what has prevented us from hearing the news of heaven. Then they went back to their people and said: О our people, "Verily! We have heard ^ a wonderful Recitation (this Qur'an)! It guides to the Right Path, and we have D

believed therein' [al-Jinn 72:1]. Then Allah revealed to His Prophet . (iЈi): "Say (O Muhammad): It has been AM revealed to me that..." [al-Jinn 72:1]. And what was revealed to him was what the jinn said.

He said to him: These are two devils, and I kept on at them until I sent them back.
