There is a great deal of myth about god, who he is, what he is ,where he is, what he is doing. If you believe that there is but one God, the God of the Bible, then most religious teachings are wrong and most religions are false. It is written in
1 Corinthians 14:33 that God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. This also tells us that saints go to church. Find a church teaching non confusing doctrine in a peaceful atmosphere full of saints and you will likely have found GOD's church. Church, by the way, is just a fancy word for assembly, congregation, gathering or meeting. In the Bible church does not refer to a building.
Furthermore in
1 Corinthians 8:5-6 it is explained that there are many that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
If you believe that the Bible is God's book, you must believe these things.
Your responsibility as believers are well explained in
Isaiah 43:10, Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
You were created by Him and have a fundamental need to recognize this fact and and to live in accordance with His will. In this way He is your Savior from the confusions of the other teachings of this world. In
Isaiah 44:24 Jesus tells us that he is our redeemer and our creator; Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;
Those who have different views are spoken of in
2 Corinthians 4:3-4, But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god (one of the above mentioned gods but in this case specifically refers to Satan the Devil) of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
And John speaks of this god's coming in
John 14:30, Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
In John's life Satan has no influence, he says, and in verse 31 we see that John is a follower of the way of the commandments of God.
31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do.

27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.
