Part 2

Church History Beyond the Trail of

Blood

Introduction to Beyond the Trail of Blood

[JFR]

Part 2 of this work does not attempt to add to, take

away, or correct anything of Dr. Carroll’s work with

the Trail of Blood. Dr. Carroll wrote the Trail of

Blood in the 1930’s and many things have become

very different in this 21st Century.

Here is what Part 2 will endeavor to accomplish:

Since I am a United States citizen and am a member

of a church that can trace its history back to those

churches that began in the early United States—even

though it might be difficult to trace a physical history

back to Rhode Island and the Thirteen Colonies—I

felt that it would be good to take a look at those

churches who left Europe and came to America to

find religious freedom.

I also want to look at some of the modern-day

churches that have come about in the later centuries.

There are many that call themselves churches that do

not have any claim to that title whatsoever. It would

be impossible to list every single one that is not part

of a larger group. They come and go constantly. We

will consider the main groups of churches that have

sprang up in the latter centuries, the 20th and 21st

centuries.

Let us begin with a short history of Baptist Churches

in the beginnings of the United States.
