"O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me" Psalm 139:1
Did you know that before you were conceived the Creator, our Lord Jesus Christ, knew you? He knows all about you! He knew who your parents would be. He knew what kind of child you would be. He knew what you would do in your teenage years. He knew what kind of character traits you would possess. He knew what kind of grades you would make in your school years. He knew who your spouse would be and who your children would be. He knew if you would receive Him as your Saviour or if you would reject Him. By the way, just because He knows this does not mean He forces His grace upon the sinner. No, He gives all men a choice to receive or to reject.
Isn't that amazing? Doesn't it blow your mind? The God Who created all things loves and cares for you and I! He desires an intimate relationship with each and every man, woman, boy and girl on the face of the entire Earth.
Knowing this should create a desire in our hearts to serve and please the Lord. However, we are so self-absorbed that we very rarely acknowledge the awesome power of the Almighty God. He does love us! In John, He tells us that "God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell;
It goes beyond the highest star,
And reaches to the lowest hell;
The guilty pair, bowed down with care,
God gave His Son to win;
His erring child He reconciled,
And pardoned from his sin.
O love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure
The saints’ and angels’ song.When years of time shall pass away,
And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall,
When men, who here refuse to pray,
On rocks and hills and mountains call,
God’s love so sure, shall still endure,
All measureless and strong;
Redeeming grace to Adam’s race—
The saints’ and angels’ song.
Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade,
To write the love of God above,
Would drain the ocean dry.
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky.
Do you know that He loves you? Do you know that no matter what you have done, He will forgive and cleanse and use you for His glory? Do you know that no matter what your circumstance, He loves you? Trust Him today! Surely if He could create our beautiful world, He could save your soul! Surely He is willing to do that just for you! So, receive Him today and then live the rest of your life for Him. Surely He is worthy!
