"Little" sin vs. "Big" sin? Is there a difference in the eyes of God? While it is true that some sin carries much greater consequences than others, we should be careful when we label sin.
Example #1: Adam and Eve
Sin: They ate the fruit. (Gen. 3)
Consequence: Spiritual Death, expulsion from Eden, etc.
Example #2: Moses
Sin: He lost his temper and smote the rock twice; unbelief (Num. 20:11)
Consequence: He was not permitted to enter the Promised Land. (Num. 20:12)
Example #3: David
Sin: He was not doing what he should have been doing. (2 Sam. 11:1; James 4:17)
Consequence: Adultery, Murder, Death of 4 children, etc. (2 Sam. 11-)
There are MANY more examples in the Word of God that we can study and learn from. The point is that it is "the little foxes that spoil the vines". (Song of Songs 2:15) What we may call a "little" sin may carry far greater consequences than any of us could ever have imagined.
Sin will take you further than you want to go.
It will keep you longer than you want to stay,
and it will cost you more than you want to pay.
