Who is this man Jesus Christ of Nazareth? Many people disagree about who Jesus Christ really was or is. Was He just a great teacher? Was He just one of the prophets of God? Is He actually the God of all creation? There has been much debate on this topic for centuries. People have sacrificed their lives for their belief on this subject.
The issue over whether Jesus Christ claimed to be God was the key reason for His rejection by the Jewish religious establishment of His day. This rejection led to His suffering and death. It is also true that there are those today who think Jesus was a great man, great teacher, and great prophet, but they think He was not God. However, how could Jesus be a great man, great teacher, or great prophet of God, and claim to be God if He weren’t?
Some have said that Jesus Christ never claimed to be God. Therefore, the belief that He is God is not warranted.
